CPHFW SS26: Baum und Pferdgarten Equine Mode

Hej Fashionistas,
Baum und Pferdgarten is a Danish brand started by Royal Danish Academy of Design alumni Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave. They unveiled their Spring/Summer 2026 collection outdoors under the beautiful August skies touting a very equestrian motif in the pieces worn by the models strutting down a cobblestone runway. The brand’s name Baum und Pferdgarten, if translated literally from German to English, means “tree and horse garden”, so the show location and design theme of this collection was very fitting! Check out the images below of my top picks from this collection and then let’s get into each ensemble!
All pictures above were shot by photographer James Cochrane and provided to me by Copenhagen Fashion Week.
The first ensemble pictured above sets the equine tone! How? Well, it’s a classic pinstriped pants suit and riding boots paired with a mustard and yellow stripped flat cap and a rolled up sac. This is how you ride! Did you happen to notice the suit jacket tied around the models waist like a classic sweater or cardigan would normally be? Did you also notice the stripe theme has opposition? The hat has thick horizontal stripes while the suit has very thin vertical stripes. Lovely touches there!
The gingham style dress suit with dark brown slouchy leather boots. Yes!!!!! Ok, here we go. Boots are for EVERY season. And, this is how you up-style it for Spring and Summer. The gingham print and the suit being a dress (plus pockets, yes, love a pocket design) with blazer instead of pants are both an ode to old fashion and it’s brought forward into today’s trends with sexy slouch boots and tan socks showing just at the top, giving the lower leg extra dimension with this layering.
The blazer and gauchos in the third ensemble pictured above just sends me! Can that be it for my comment? Is that enough? No….? Okay, fine. The darker grey blue gauchos under the light grey long-cut sports blazer is clean cut and chich in such a relaxed fashion that it could be argued this is the new suit—no more matching top and bottom sets. Just kidding! Matching is still needed (take a look at the fourth ensemble). I love the casual flats and the silk sailor print scarf. It’s understated luxury in fashion art design that still makes a bold statement.
The loose fit leather suit with the sailor print silk scarf makes me feel autumn is approaching but that’s can be the same feeling going into Spring, especially in Northern Europe. Either way, I adore this look. I’m not a fan of leather looks lately because they all seems to have to stick to the skin like tape (no hate to taped fashion set on fire by the debut of Black Tape and Miami Art Body Tape). That being said a good leather fit is a good leather fit no matter how it fits on the body. I just really appreciate the roominess of this beautifully dark, navy, ode to the equine and the sea, leather art work fashioned as a two piece suit. No much comment on the shoes as they are gracefully hidden under the pants, but it does look like the model is wearing some kind of pointed shoe. High heel, low heel? Can’t tell, which I love too!
