CPHFW SS26: Reinvention With The Swedish School of Textiles

Hej Fashionistas!
The Swedish School of Textiles is a leading textile and fashion institution molding future textile visionaries as you will clearly see below in our top picks from their Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026 Graduation Projects Show. They unveiled their graduation projects in a one of a kind show at the historic event space, Pakhus 11, erected from a former electrical power station along Copenhagen’s harbor. I show you below my favorite pieces but the choice was hard so I went with my top dresses in the first row of four images and my top two-piece ensembles in the second row of three images below. Let’s get into it!
I picked the four dresses above because they are each so bold yet approachable in a way where I would wear them as a statement on a casual day not just reserve them for a special occasion or a red carpet event. They seem like something we should wear on any given day: “take a look at me and my fabulous walking art for you to love just as much as I do!”.
Diving into each dress a little deeper, let’s start with the first dress pictured on the left. Sheer black midriff: I chose this black dress because I love a midriff look and this is a classy version of that with the sheer waist area, slight bare but still there. High Low Tulle: I chose this white tulle dress because it reminds me of a romantic ballet skirt (love that with my background in classical ballet!) that becomes full body, the back of the dress rises slightly above the model’s head and the high low cut makes this tulle design feel everlasting and expansive in the space it takes up. Endless Loops: I chose this dress because for a personal reason again it reminds me of another ballet design, this time it’s the darning we ballet dancers create around the tips of our pointe shoes from wool or cotton yarn spools and it created the image of endless loops just like this dress. Pulled Strings: I chose this last dress pictured on the far right above because I love the undoing of it. It obviously doesn’t come undone but the strings of material flowing as the model walks with the stringy design of the dress barely covering her body is exquisite and perfectly unfinished as if she’s coming undone.
Each of the ensembles I selected above are two pieces that have the puffy or baggy style in clothing that I love when I want to feel embraced and carried within the material. Queen of Hearts Type: this white and black two piece bells out at the bottom of the white jacket and black skirt while accentuated by red gloves. It’s a very edgy take on the Queen of Hearts costume from Alice in Wonderland. I have no idea if this was even an influence but it springs to mind for me. I love how leggy it is too. Bell Shapes: I have said before that I am always up for the argument for boots in every season including Spring and Summer. The slim black leather boots take the bell shapes of the black cardigan and the yellow skirt over the edge. Gathered Layers: I have a hard time looking away from a good ruched design and this one is full of it from top to bottom. As an added touch there is asymmetry in the grey sleeveless top and layers down over the black baggy pants.
I hope you enjoyed my favorite picks from The Swedish School of Textiles Spring/Summer 2026 collection from this season of Copenhagen Fashion Week!
